The Witnesses’ White Jesus

I received a leaflet from the Jehovah’s Witnesses today suggesting that Jesus was white (please see above). This is very unlikely, at least according to most academics (please see below for an example).

So why is Jesus represented as white? Because white continues to be the colour of social power, and when you are trying to be persuasive to strangers, one wants to appear powerful. Thus, religion and power are smack bang together in a leaflet that interrupted my breakfast.
